  • We need to conserve our money and we want to immerse ourselves in other cultures so this article by Unbrave Girl was right on the money.
  • Great guest post on Nomadic Matt’s Travel Site about a girl’s guide to Italy… worth it just for the discussion on carbs in the Italian Diet.  For some reason I think Meg would be in heaven…
  • Pub Crawl/Tubing down a river in Laos? Awesome.  Adventurous Kate shows you that while around the world travel can be great for the soul… there is something to be said for drinking cheap beers and listening to music with a bunch of your peers.
  • Over at yTravelBlog they discuss the best way to travel.  While it’s different for each person and couple, for us we think living in different places for a few months at a time will be best.  It’ll save money and allow us to truly immerse ourselves in the culture.  We shall see!
  • Another great article by Unbrave Girl about the 10 things she learned while travelling over the past 10 months.  Better to learn this stuff before we start!
  • Should you get travel insurance?  YES!
  • Steph over at Twenty-Something Travel recounts a great tip she got from Audrey and Dan from Uncornered Market that led to a beautiful, uncrowded paradise in Thailand.
  • All about Adventurous Kate… “My ultimate goal is to become location-independent and travel indefinitely.”  You could pretty much replace any post I write with this simple message…

Thanks for the mentions! I’m happy that my posts could be of help for your pre-trip planning… but I’d really recommend you don’t follow all my advice. Especially the stuff about spending most of your trip eating cookies! :)
