Trusted House & Animal Sitters

Who Are Meg & Tony?

We are in our late 20’s and left our jobs (as a Business Management Consultant and Commercial Banker) in early 2012 to travel around the world. We are aspiring entrepreneurs & digital nomads that enjoy living minimally and peacefully. We love animals (especially dogs) and are responsible and trustworthy caretakers for your home!

We both love the city, but dream of owning a large piece of land in the country someday. While we do love city life, we never feel more at home then when we are surrounded by the outdoors; whether it is camping in Yellowstone & The Grand Tetons or working on a Tuscan farm.

While we are working on our business and traveling, we also write about our adventures at LandingStanding.com (your on our site now!) and have also been featured on the TrustedHouseSitters Blog. If you would like to get a sense of our personalities, feel free to check out our homepage (click our logo at the top of this page) and see what we are currently up to.

Why Do We Housesit?

We love to travel slow and explore the world like locals. We are looking to start up our own business venture, so we tend to go to bed early and stay in houses where we can get a lot of work done to achieve our goals.

We adore animals and grew up with lovable golden retrievers and yellow labs, so we also love being able to take care of other peoples’ pets… at least until we get our own!

We miss the convenience and comforts of living in a house and are looking for a new place to call home on the road… At least for a little bit!

Our Prior Experiences

We both studied Business Administration in college and spent 4 years as a Business Management Consultant and Commercial Banker. We are quick learners that are dedicated to getting the job done.

We spent time volunteering through WWOOF on an agroturismo in Tuscany this past June, where we worked on a farm caring for chickens, gardens, and guest houses in exchange for free room & board.

Tony is the chicken whisperer!

We both grew up with dogs and have extensive experience in dog sitting, whether it is for family or friends.  In September 2012, we spent a month in Thailand looking after two large and cuddly German Shepherds.

This past November, we also spent several weeks on the Sunshine Coast in Australia pet sitting for two wonderful Lhasa Apso dogs.

So what are just a few of the responsibilities we have had housesitting?

  • Taking care of dogs as big as 50 kilo German Shephards to as small as an 8 week old puppy
  • Maintaining a large Koi pond with 30 fish, including monitoring water pumps and intake filters
  • Managing & cleaning salt water pools and maintaining chlorine & salt levels
  • Oversaw house staff of 3 and managed their work-load with list of pre-approved jobs
  • Taking care of chickens, gardens, and guest houses
